We’ve just gotten our brand new Bosch 800 series dishwasher after a horrible 9 years of Whirlpool. We decided Bosch was probably the only brand that was going to last a long time, so we went all the way to the 800 series. What a great purchase!

First off, the 800 series has the Bosch-patented CrystalDry technology, with utilizes a volcanic rock called zeolite to help dry the dishes better. We got the same drying performance out of this one has we did the previous one, which is about average. There is still water on Tupperware, and one morning we woke up to a bottle that was filled to the brim with water!

As for the sound level, it’s ASTOUNDING. The Apple Watch Series 6 decibel meter showed the dishwasher clocking in at 44 decibels, which is right on point at what they advertised it as, “Super Silence Plus 42 dbA”. My decibel meter app picked up 42.3 decibels on the same wash cycle. It’s so quiet that even in the same room you can’t tell it’s running. Well, that’s why there’s InfoLight, which shines a red light on the floor during the cycle. The only part that is noticeably louder than the rest of the cycle is the CrystalDry process. It makes a loud hum for 15 minutes just before the cycle ends.

The 3rd rack gives us WAY more room for silverware and small cups than the old one. There’s so much room for silverware that it would probably take us 4 or 5 days for the silverware slots to become used up!

Overall, the Bosch 800 series dishwasher (SHXM78Z55N) is an outstanding dishwasher, and I’d rate it at 4.5 stars.
