Lately, there have been several problems with Windows 10’s built-in mail client, Microsoft Mail. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that it’s bad; after all, the word Microsoft is part of its name.
When I try to send an e-mail, the mail client reports it as sent, but the person I send it to never actually receives the email. And every time, I have to fumble around with the controls, do a bunch of resends, and mess around with the settings before it works again. Sending an email should be simple, Microsoft.
Yes, I know, Microsoft Mail is free. You should never expect a lot out of a free program. But a mail program…Microsoft really needs to shape up. In addition to this, sometimes I don’t even see the email in the Sent Items list, even though Mail says it’s been sent when I click the Send button. Perhaps my on Mail program is lying to me.
Windows 10 default apps have never been extremely high-quality (except for Task Manager, File Explorer, and Snipping Tool), but I did not expect something as simple as a mail client to be this utterly dumb. Microsoft has not been doing great in the way of software lately, I have to tell you.
