Microsoft Word is throwing the error. "Unreadable content" blah, blah blah. We know you're making stuff up, Word, because it worked on the same device 15 minutes ago.

Opening a file in whatever application you’re using should be easy. It should just be click the open file button and select your file. But when something goes wrong, it’s not as easy as it sounds.

Microsoft Word has some problems with compatibility. So that just means you can’t open the same file that you created using Microsoft Word in LibreOffice, or Pages, because LibreOffice and Pages are not compatible with Word .docx format. And that’s too bad.

But the real problem occurs when your word processor gets dumb and doesn’t want to open a file because of some excuse it came up with just to keep you from writing in it because your trial subscription has ended, see the “Why product tiers, accounts, and subscriptions and so on are so annoying” post. Anyway, Microsoft Word isn’t exactly known for quality. In fact, it might be known for low-quality if it wasn’t for that smooth cursor feature and the updated ribbon. Moat likely you’re going to get an error that says, “Word found unreadable content in this file,” even though you just opened 5 minutes ago on the same PC and it worked. That means that your word processor is making up an excuse or something. Or if something really went wrong, then 5 minutes ago it would be throwing the same message. So if it worked last 5 10, or even 30 minutes ago, and it’s throwing the same error now, then uninstall your word processor or start using another one.

Which explains the reason why Microsoft isn’t exactly known for quality. Windows is, well, low to medium quality, and Office is also low to medium quality. And that is causing 45% of the problems Microsoft’s customers are having–and all they do to help their customers is open a browser and show an annoying thread with people who don’t know what they’re doing.

  1. Sometimes I might get this error, and it’s really aggravating. Word sometimes might go crazy and throw random errors, so yeah, that can happen a lot.
