You can see a whole ton of windows open. That is because I am trying to sort yet another problem out with downloading practice files.

It’s hard to do simple tasks anymore without something going wrong. These days, if something does go wrong (which it probably will) it’s going to break everything and you won’t be able to download a file.

This one time I was attempting to download some Studio One songs from a Studio One tutorial website, and the files were zipped practice files. And for some reason they wouldn’t open in Studio One. Nowadays, there’s just a lot more that could go wrong, because stuff is more complicated and therefore prone to go wrong.

With many factors to consider, including download speed, file size, file type, and file location, everything fell apart in a flash. In the what, 1990s, there wouldn’t be as much to consider as stuff wasn’t as complicated. Stuff would less likely go wrong. The biggest problem is when you can’t seem to even download the file, which was not the thing that happened to me. But that can happen if the file is too big, or if something goes wrong.

Problems are taking over the world. There might be problems with your USB cable, and there might be problems with your TIVO, as well as problems with your computer and problems with your gaming console. With all these problems put together, if you’re actually trying to do something big, then there is a 99 in 100 of a chance that you’re going to run into a problem and have to stop.

Downloading files should be easy. It should just be get the file from a website, or an app, and then let it download. Then, open the file. That’s how it was in the 1990s. (NOTE: Before 1998, it would just be from an application.) Now, here’s how the process goes: You get the file from the web. Then, (most likely) your browser takes an update. You wait for 15 minutes. Then, you start the download. In the middle of the process, a problem occurs. You stop and try to fix it for 30 minutes. Then, the download finishes. You cannot find the files. That takes you another 30 minutes to find them and open them. And finally, you open the file. Elapsed time is ONE HOUR AND 15 MINUTES. That is about the time it would take you to have a short NAP. In the 1990s, it would be 15 to 30 minutes. And that would be all.

Because, like I said, there are so many factors to consider, you’ve got to be way more careful than you had to be in the 90s around downloading files and other jobs like that. Because a problem could be going on right now under your nose.

  1. Problems occur every day, and most of them occur in downloading files. This is a very good explanation about why you should expect to run into problems every single day.
